Summary

This late 17th century house was altered in 1745. It has five bays and three storeys. The line of the original 17th century gables can be seen on the sides of the building. Inside there is a staircase that was installed in 1745. There is an 18th century brick barn with a thatched roof.

Very fine large Georgian house, five bays, three storeys, the top storey being smaller. Broken-based pedimented central doorway. House has a double-ridged parallel roof, the rear section being of less height. Fair condition.

However (S1) states house is late 17th century altered 1745. English bond. Line of 17th century gables visible in present higher gables which have tie plate for 1745 in Roman numerals. Early 19th century rear cross wing. Retains staircase of 1745, otherwise interior altered.

Also listed is a barn, 18th century brick and thatch with central cart doors and buttresses to east. Three slits in each gable. Roof of tiebeams once on arched braces; some later braces substituted. Two tiers butt purlins and cambered collars, straight windbracing over doors.
