Full Description
1844. On mound called Black Hill (part of former Mousehold Heath. Blackhill Wood on Ordnance Survey at 15.3m (50ft) OD).
Broad handled jug found. 8.9cm (3.5in) high, 10.2-12.7cm (4-5in) diameter. Medieval, 13th-14th century.

Mounds marked here on 1589 map of Mousehold in NCM, but are called the Brente Hills, whereas Black Hills are marked on site of NHER 11924.

Not likely to be a barrow; no certain barrow in wood.

Except for an area to west, and part of centre of wood, whole area densely afforested. Cleared area covered in thick bracken. No mounds seen. Manager has been asked to monitor for any mounds, should felling be undertaken.
