Summary

Around 1910 approximately 100 fragments of undecorated Late Saxon pottery, with part of a cresset lamp possibly dating to the 10th century, were recovered from the centre of Mountergate Street.

40ft (12.2m) from King Street in one hole 6ft x 3ft and 8ft (1.8m x 0.9m x2.4m ) deep.
About 100 fragments of undecorated Late Saxon pottery with part of a cresset lamp ?10th century. [1]
