Summary

Excavations in the garden of 34 Mill Lane have recovered two copper alloy Roman coins dated to AD 54-68 and AD 268 to 270.

As of Nero (AD 54-68) in fair condition Obverse: IMP NERO CAESAR --- --- (MA)X TRP PP Reverse: S/C in field victory flying left with buckler.

1977. Found in digging garden of 34 Mill Lane (formerly 16 Mill Lane, as on 1953 find).
Bronze antoninianus of Claudius II Gothicus (268-270), not in (S1). Obverse: Head right., rad. IMP CLAVDIVS AVG Reverse: standing figure, BEATA (?).
