Bos (Ox) and Cervus capridus (roebuck) found ante 1856 on or near old mere.

These bones were worked.

The Mere was drained in the 19th century, a polygonal ditch being made around it to divert water from the streams that formerly entered it. This polygon was wrongly published as a medieval deer park boundary in (S1).
