Summary

This area was known as Long Meadow in 1681 but was Rush Meadow later on. This field system was under pasture for a long time and this ensured the shape of 1681 was retained, despite the fact that many of the fields in Snetterton have been remodelled since the mid 18th century. An earthwork ditch is visible on aerial photographs, which may represent post medieval drainage of the area.
