Full Description
West of Leys Lane and old sandpit.
Square cropmark noted by R. R. Clarke (NCM) 'on aerial photographs' (RAF 1946?) and suggested as ditches.
April 1979. Visit.
Crop just sprouting, just possible depression marking eastern side of rectangle.
E. Rose (NAU) 11 April 1979.
The reference is to the RAF 1946 air photograph which shows a faint, vaguely rectangular dark shape outlined by ditches.
See (S1).
E. Rose (NLA) 5 July 1993.
November 2022-March 2023. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of narrow strip along route of proposed new access road.
This survey identified no evidence for sub-surface remains associated with this possible enclosure.
See report (S2) and NHER 55758 for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 23 October 2024.
