Map

1961. From sewer trench south of east end of The Oakfields.
Iron spearhead 'could be medieval'.
Identifed by Mr Tate (British Museum).
(S1) in the Illustration Library.
R. R. Clarke (NCM).

Map discovered by W. F. Milligan (NCM) in (S2), in file. (S2) says spearhead was found in sewer trench through fields east of Oakfields, south of end of road. This indicates R.R. Clarke's location was roughly correct - probably about TG 200 054.
Why did T.H. Mck. Clough (NAU) change findspot to TG 10 NE 1999 0561? Probably mistake in changing from old series Ordnance Survey 6in map.
E. Rose (NAU).
