Summary

This 18th century dovecote is square in shape with a slate roof topped with a lantern. The inside walls are lined with nesting boxes which were slightly deteriorating when they were seen in 1976.

17th century brick approximatley 38cm (15in) square,76cm (30in) high to top of lantern on slate roof: lantern has rows of wooden balusters. Inside walls are lined with nesting boxes. Slightly deteriorating.

Listing grade II 1986 dates to 18th century.
E. Rose (NAU) 20 May 1986.

(S1) points out that the listing is clearly correct as it is not shown on the Prideux engraving of 1725, when another dovecot existed northeast of the hall. It was there by 1829.
