FINDS IN THE NORWICH CASTLE MUSEUM

It is noted in (S1) that Trowse was a location at which Neolithic "chipped" flints had been found by both H. H. Halls and W. G. Clarke. As no mention is made of finds from Trowse in (S2) it must be assumed that these objects were found between 1907 and 1919. The Norwich Castle Museum's appears to hold at least some of the material found. According to (S3) the Halls collection include a fragmentary flaked flint axehead from Trowse (NWHCM : 1924.83). The collection also includes a number of undatable prehistoric worked flints from Trowse (NWHCM : 1924.83.62). The NCM's main W. G. Clarke collection also includes worked flints from Trowse (NWHCM : 1926.32.59).

FINDS IN OTHER MUSEUMS

The Pitt Rivers Museum (Oxford) hold a Neolithic flint implement of unspecified type from "Trowse" (1884.125.90 .14). This object is part of the museum's founding collection and was therefore found at some time prior to 1884. Information from museum records.

OTHER REPORTED DISCOVERIES

It is noted by (S4) that Trowse was a location that had produced Neolithic flint implements of "Boulder Clay Type". This is probably a reference to the information in (S1) noted above.
