Summary

In the 1970s and 1980s hundreds of Prehistoric, Neolithic and Early Bronze Age worked flints were recovered from this area, including some transverse and barbed and tanged arrowheads. Aerial photographs also recorded the cropmark of a ring ditch at this location, now recorded under NHER 52334.

1977. On ploughed surface.
Scatter of worked flint flakes, including a crude scraper.
Information from NCM.
Also a barbed and tanged arrowhead and a petit tranchet derived arrowhead. Earlier, when field under potatoes, steeply retouched flint flake about here, seen by A. K. Gregory (NAU), July 1975.

Axe roughout, finishing flakes, 50 other flakes.

Items from 1977 finds now presented to NCM are:
34 flakes some with slight retouch, 2 crude axe-like implements, 2 scrapers, 2 hollow scrapers, 2 more extensively retouched flakes, 1 crude borer, 1 oblique arrowhead.

Further finds from ploughed surface reported in 1986:
22 flakes, some with slight retouch; 5 blades; 1 blade with later retouch; 2 spalls less than 2cm; 3 flakes with non standardised but more extensive retouch; 3 rounded scrapers, 2 hollow scrapers; 2 very crude small picks; 2 borers; one complete petit tranchet derivative arrowhead. Latter is late Neolithic, remainder might be but generally just prehistoric.
