Summary

During development of the Bunwell bypass a mechanical digger unearthed a skeleton of a woman aged between 40 and 50 years old. The skeleton was dated to the Late Saxon or early medieval period. Some pottery recorded as NHER 10003 may come from the area where the skeleton was found.
