Summary

Horizontal wooden branches forming a possible trackway were seen running north to south in the sides of the ditch. This lines up with the Roman road NHER 7947.

Horizontal wooden branches (?pathway) running north to south seen in sides of ditch (on Dickleburgh Moor).

Dykes here partly cleaned and some new drains apparently inserted, some old ones filled in. Section at this grid reference (in file). Note exactly in line with continuation of Roman road NHER 7947. Some horizontal branches of a brush drain exposed in same dyke further to east. Chalky boulder clay thrown up in one place from below peat and shelly, organic clay silt. (S1) notes branches and large timbers.
