September 1976. Visit.
Visited by E. Rose (NAU).
Very fine early 17th-century house, 'T'-shaped. Six bays in main wing, octagonal chimneys. East wall against Tunn Street (head of 'T') contains several windows blocked with brick - this wall is flint whereas facade is plastered. 19th-century bay window and some window surrounds, probably porch also - in form of pedimented arch - but this could just be renewal. West end of house shows signs of subsidence.
Compiled by E. Rose (NAU), 30 September 1976. Information from record card (S2).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 21 December 2023.

An extensive garden wall associated with Grove House was separately listed Grade II in 1979. This is now recorded as NHER 67877.

August 1983. Field Observation.
Second visit by E. Rose (NAU).
On second visit, the windows in the Tunn Street wall examined more closely. From north to south upper floor has rectangular blocked, small blocked, recent window cutting a 'long-low' a second similar but by a blocked rectangular. On the ground floor from south, two 'long-lows' (the second blocked in two periods of brickwork) three recent and a doorway,
and a blocked small window. Suggests early 17th-century windows cut by late 17th/18th century, all altered in 19th century. The octagonal chimneys are 19th century.
Compiled by E. Rose (NAU), 22 August 1983. Information from record card (S2).
Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 21 December 2023.

May 1988. Field Observation.
At north end Tunn Street frontage (perhaps not same property) windows surrounds have blocks of reused limestone and one block ironbound conglomerate.
Compiled by E. Rose (NAU), 18 May 1988. Information from record card (S2).
