The cropmark of a ring ditch is visible on aerial photographs (S1) and (S2) and this may relate to a Bronze Age round barrow site. The monument forms part of a possible linear barrow group (NHER 1020, 12788 to 9) running alongside the former course of the River Burn. The linear group may be focused on the larger and potentially earlier hengiform monument to the east (NHER 1020).
The ring ditch measures 25.5m in diameter and the ditch is between 1m and 1.5m wide.
