December 1984.
Excavation in advance of gravel quarrying revealed that the apparent ring ditch was natural periglacial feature. A shallow pit within it did contain several flint flakes and one sherd of Neolithic plain bowl pottery. Cropmarks of two linear features making a right-angled turn were sectioned and showed V-shaped ditches which had been recut at various times, although no dating evidence was found.
E. Rose (NAU), 5 December 1984 and J. Wymer (NAU), March 1986.
The medieval material mentioned above is one small coarse ware sherd found on spoil.
Full publication in (S3).
The excavated parts of the ditches contained prehistoric worked flint, brick and the piece of medieval pottery.
See (S3) for further details.
D. Robertson (NLA), 1 August 2005.

The possible trackway cropmark recorded at this site is now recorded as NHER 49695.
