NHER 16229 (Find Spot record) - Multi-period objects, coins and pottery sherds

Autumn 1978. Norfolk Archaeological Research Group fieldwalking. On surface of lightly ploughed sandy loam.
Scatter of struck flints and pot boilers, no concentrations. Beaker sherd, 8mm maximum thickness, gritty fabric orange/grey, rouletted decoration.
Post medieval debris (brick, tile, glass, clay pipe, oysters etc).
Also stoneware sherds.

1991. Flint found in 1978 identified by P. Robins (NCM).
Eleven end and round scrapers on flakes, five retouched flakes, one core scraper.
Also Grimston sherd not previously seen.

1988. Fieldwalking.
Found during survey of Norwich Bypass route, but not exactly located:
1 Palaeolithic large (8cm) flint flake. Very thick and rolled. Striated, heavily stained with much edge damage but secondary working apparently on thick side, so possibly a scraper. Condition indicates Lower Palaeolithic date.

Worked flint, pot boilers, Roman sherds.

Very corroded 1st to 2nd century AD as.

Context 2. Three quarters of a penny of Eadwald (about 796 to 798 AD?). Obverse. EAD REX in two lines Reverse. Moneyer's name on quatrefoil EAD--t (Eadnoth). Legend not as in North no. 431, but as in British Museum Catalogue No. 3. Die axis 135 degrees, mass 0.883g.
