Summary
A German World War Two bomber crashed here on the night of November 6th 1943. It was brought down by anti aircraft fire on its way to bomb Norwich. The wreckage set fire to an adjacent barn. One of the German crew survived. The plane was the last of its type to be shot down in East Anglia. The site was excavated in 1978.

Full Description
6/7 November 1943.
Crash site of Dornier 217 U5+ GT Werk Nr 4509. Brought down by anti aircraft fire on approach to bomb Norwich. Wreckage set fire to adjacent barn. One survivor from crew of three. Last Dornier 217 to be shot down in East Anglia.
October 1978.
Site excavated by Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum with 'limited results'.
