Full Description
June 1982. Island east of Marlingford Hall.
Referred to as moat by occupants of hall and 'site of first hall'.
Information from [1] to E. Rose (NAU).
Moated site is supposed to be that to north of Hall. Are these just river backwaters or another moat?

Found in fieldwalking and with metal detector.
14th to 15th century sherds including late medieval/transitional.
Lead waste.
Bronze handle.
Rim fragment from small cauldron.
Fragment of sheet bronze decorated with stiff leaf (casket mount?).
Identified by S. Margeson (NCM) and W. Milligan (NCM).
