Summary

A possible medieval moat has been recorded east of Marlingford Hall. It has been suggested this is the site of an earlier hall. Metal detecting and fieldwalking have recovered pieces of 14th to 15th century pottery, undated lead waste, a bronze handle, a rim fragment from a small cauldron and a possible casket mount.
