CROPMARKS PREVIOUSLY RECORDED UNDER THIS NUMBER ARE NOW RECORDED AS NHER 38288.
Winter 1983 to 1984.
Found on surface of ploughed field, while walking strip along proposed western route of bypass (field numbered 92 for purpose of survey).
Discrete area of finds, 100 to 125m north to south.
Roman and medieval pottery, metalworking debris.

Medieval decorated bronze adjustable hasp and lock from casket at 6794 3234. Finder's no. 38.

Contexts 3 to 8.
Unstratified Roman finds of pottery, tile, slag, bronze brooch from road line. 1st to 3rd century AD.
Linear ?field boundaries Roman, recorded in borrow pit to west of road line (seen on air photographs previously). Some are modern.
