Summary

A World War Two concrete and steel base for a spigot mortar, an anti tank weapon. Dating to about 1940, this was part of the anti invasion installations constructed at the time. This particular base has eroded on the top to reveal the steel framework inside.

Full Description

October 1984. In angle of sea bank.
World War Two mortar spigot. Top of concrete eroded to reveal iron frame.

A Second World War spigot mortar situated at the base of the modern sea bank at TF 85023 44908. Probably in-situ.
