Summary

A Roman disc brooch with red and blue enamel inlay was found at this spot by metal detecting. These finds are part of a larger Roman to Late Saxon settlement and Early Saxon cemetery complex.

Disc brooch, 2nd century, 2.4cm diameter exclusive of knobbly projections (originally four including hinge) around circumference. Centre inlaid with circle of red enamel, rest filled in with dark blue.
