March 1986.
Found on chute when gravel was being quarried in area this NGR.
Flat axe of copper or copper alloy, broken at butt and battered by machinery.
Fresh metal thus exposed is copper coloured.
Otherwise in good condition with no trace of corrosion.
Undecorated.
