Summary

Fieldwalking as part of the Fenland Survey in 1986 recovered a few pieces of prehistoric worked flint and possible medieval pottery sherds. Later fieldwalking before the laying of a pipeline recovered many more objects including a concentration of Middle Saxon pottery, a Middle Saxon facetted head pin and a Late Saxon coin of Coenwulf. Excavation undertaken before the pipeline was constructed revealed Middle Saxon ditches and burials. Metal-detecting in 2012 recovered a medieval coin and medieval/post-medieval copper alloy rings.
