Full Description
L shaped pond shown on OS.
This is now dry, but forms part of a series of earthworks in pasture which resemble a double moat with a hollow way leading northwest into a wood.
'Islands' very bumpy.
Northwest of moat other east to west depressions could represent house platforms, but could also be drainage trenches, and the hollow way could be a channel to the Blackwater; but 'moat' seems to be of larger dimensions than these (though all the earthworks are quite slight) and it is probably genuine.
Visited E. Rose (NAU) 30 November 1978.
