'Fragments of Roman pottery have been found in a tumulus on the road from Carleton to Ketteringham'.
See (S1).
E. Rose (NAU)

(S1) was published in 1846, as a reprint of an earlier edition, the notes on antiquities being taken from (S2).
It is unlikely therefore that this refers to the 1846 excavation of site NHER 9481.
However (S3) has an identical entry, except that that refers to the road from Carleton to Hethersett.
Suggest this does in fact refer to NHER 9841, an earlier otherwise unrecorded excavation.
