Full Description
1815.
'Another (fine barrow) in Cuffer Lane 1/4 mile of Castle'.
1857.
A farm on the site but the 'road still winds round' where the barrow stood.
See (S1).
18 December 1934.
Couldn't find it.
R.R. Clarke (NCM).
No sign of barrow next to farm or in Cuffer Lane.
Two mounds at TM 084 909 are probably upcast from recent adjacent pits.
A.J. Lawson (NAU), 11 February 1976.
For adjacent earthworks of 20th century agricultural origin see NHER 41673.
National grid reference corrected from original TM 0840 9080.
M. Horlock (NLA), 8 January 2003.
June 2012. Norfolk NMP.
This area was examined as part of the National Mapping Programme. It was possible to make out some evidence of a possible mound on aerial photographs (S3), centred on TM 0832 9087, although it was considered more likely to be a modern agricultural mound, and has not been mapped.
E. Bales (NMP), 7 June 2012.
