Full Description
1821.
Found in a field in opposite west front of Caistor camp.
Two bodies, called Roman soldiers, with teeth and metal brooch in excellent preservation.
See (S1).
R. R. Clarke (NCM).
An identical entry is given in (S2) but under the date 29 January 1821 saying the bodies were 'lately' dug up, rather
than (S1)s date of 10 February. What is the reason for this?
E. Rose (NLA), 4 May 1995.
