Summary

A Neolithic to Bronze Age perforated stone axe hammer was found propping open the door of an army hut in Langley Park in May 1943. The hammer was made of Scandinavian basalt and was probably imported. The exact location of its discovery is unclear.

May 1943.
Perforated stone axe hammer of basalt ?import from Scandinavia. Used as doorstop in army hut at Langley Park.
14cm (5 1/2 inches) long, 7cm (2.8 inches) wide. See Schleswig Holstein.
