June 1958. In widening dyke for boatyard (grid reference may be slightly incorrect; dyke to east may be meant).
Between surface and 2.4m (8 feet) deep. Young adult human skull and other bones, stained and sheeps jaw and fowl bone in grey clay.

(S1) 'Human skull at Reedham' 'A human skull was found yesterday in the boatyard of Pearson Barberballs Marine Craft Ltd at The Hove, Reedham, and was later handed over to the police. [1] said men had been using a floating grab to excavate a dyke in order to widen it. 'The mud was thrown onto the bank and when we were levelling it we found the skull' he said'. Remains to Dr. Wells for report.
