A World War Two searchlight battery is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The central grid reference for this site has been amended from TG 4151 0252 to TG 4153 0246. The earliest available aerial photographs showing this site date to May 1944 (S2). The site appears to have been a typical World War Two searchlight battery with a trefoil shaped group of emplacements. These were located in the eastern part of the site but the earth banks forming two of the circular emplacements had been levelled by May 1944. To their northwest was a larger earth-banked circular emplacement containing a central structure or equipment. The fixed searchlight associated with the group of three emplacements appear to have been removed by this date. It is possible that they had been replaced by trailer-mounted mobile searchlights. Two structures to the southwest of the original emplacements may be these searchlights. Buildings associated with the site were present along its western boundary and a hexagonal pillbox, probably a Type 22, was located at the road junction to its northwest.
