Summary

A partly perforated quartzite pebble, possibly an unfinished macehead, was found on the surface of a field in 1972. Objects of this type are not closely datable, having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.

Found lying near edge of field, on surface:
1 prehistoric partly-perforated quartzite pebble with signs of battering on each end. See sketch (S1). Information from (S2). This discovery was reported in (S3).
Possibly an unfinished pebble macehead? These objects are not closely datable having been found in both Mesolithic and later prehistoric contexts.
