Summary

In 1958 a number of pointed stakes were recovered during the construction of an electricity pylon. These are thought to be the remains of a causeway across the marsh, and may be Bronze Age in date.

October 1958. In digging foundations for tower 40 for electric power line.
Pointed stakes were found, probably remains of causeway across marsh.
Peat occurred at from 8ft-10ft (2.4m - 3m) below surface possibly Bronze Age date.
