Moat (Walcott Hall).

Surveyed during MPBW funded rapid moat survey.

Only southwest and northwest arms survive and still waterfilled.
These are up to 1.5m deep and 14m across.
Moat landscaped in 19th century when present house built.
Northeast arm perhaps marked by 'a low wet area'.

June 1992. Trial Trench and Watching Brief.
Evaluation trench in advance of new extension to 19th century hall revealed no pre 20th century features, the ground being disturbed by recent services.
Trench was on island of moat.
