Summary

In 1950 fragments of a highly decorated Early Bronze Age pot were recovered from this area, as were some tusk and tooth fragments of a mammoth, and antler remains of an extinct quadruped.

1950. Gravel pit 500ft (150m) west southwest of Congregational Chapel.
Fragments of highly decorated 'A' Beaker found 20 to 30ft (6m to 9m)from surface but this is probably in the talus.
Tusk and tooth of mammoth and antler of extinct deer/horse also from this pit. [1]
