Full Description
Before 1953 at the riding school.
Roman pottery found, including one sherd of Samian, East Gaulish about 150 to 250 AD.
According to R.R. Clarke (NCM), Roman pottery was also found here in 1861 (see (S1)) - but was this correctly dated? and is it definitely the same site?
E. Rose.
