Field survey on proposed route of bypass (Field 2229):
Sherds of modern tile and pottery.

A143 Brockdish-Needham Bypass.
Observation and metal-detecting of stripped surface.
No archaeologically-significant features observed and no finds recovered.
See report (S5) for further information and NHER 31423 for details of unstratified metal objects recovered from relocated topsoil being used to form banks at unspecified locations along the bypass route. This work is also noted in (S6).
