The earthworks of this previously recorded bowl barrow are clearly visible on the Lidar data (S1) [1]. The barrow is surrounded by a ditch, 3-5 wide, and an outer bank, up to 5m across. The eastern edge of the outer bank has been cut into by later extraction. There appears to be a break in the bank to the south, although this may also so be the result of disturbance of the earthwork. Possible scoops and/or causeways may also be detectable within the profile of the ditch. A possible segment of bank to the north of the site may be related, although this may be associated with later activity.
This monument is located in close proximity to other barrows forming a probable cemetery (NHER 62104) and numerous other barrows, forming a dispersed cemetery group (NHER 61484) in this area.
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 21 September 2016.
