Summary

In 1975 and 1979 a few Roman pottery sherds were recovered from this area, as well as some metal working debris which is also thought to date to the Roman period.

1975. Found in garden in waterworn chalk and gravel, approximately 4ft (1.2m) deep.
Two joining rim sherds of large wide-mouthed jar in greyware 'found with others similar'. Information from KLM 1975.

1979. Same site.
One thick rim of bowl or lid. One basal jar sherd. One thin body sherd; all in grey ware. Also lump of ironworking slag. 3ft (0.91m) deep. In KLM. [1]
