Full Description
1979. Visit.
Cropmark of north to south linear feature, in part corresponding with parish boundary, and a shorter parallel to west.
Off former, a rectangle. Suggested as moated site by member of the public [1].
September 1981. Visit.
The field is overgrown and the feature is at the centre of a gigantic patch of thistles. The north to south feature is an old ditch or river course, still grown with rushes etc. The rectangle is a raised platform and could well be a moat. Its situation on the parish boundary might explain why the present Wood Dalling Hall is marked as Guestwick Hall by (S1), if this is the site of the preceding medieval hall.
E. Rose (NAU), 9 September 1981.
