Summary

In 1975 a sharpened Bronze Age socketed axehead with evidence of casting seams was found during potato harvesting in an area close to a peat fen.

1975. Found while harvesting potatoes from large clay area in an otherwise peat fen.
A looped socketed axe, medium splay, with two mouldings on the mouth was recovered. Casting seams and flaws visible. The axe has been sharpened. Dated to the Bronze Age.
