Summary

Several cropmarks are visible on aerial photographs of this site, including a possible ring ditch, which may date to the Bronze Age, and other possible enclosures of unknown date.

Several superimposed subrectangular enclosures, and faint marks.
A possible ring ditch?

1977.
Further air photography shows site of post mill by road, a circle with a cross in centre.
D. Edwards (NAU) 18 December 1980.

In undated press cutting in file [1] claimed he saw a possible Roman road crossing this field parallel with Market Road.

Green crop on field.
Cropmarks not visible.
Slight depression runs parallel with Market Road, which may be the 'Roman road' referred to.
On air photograph TG 4905E this depression is shown to be a natural feature.
