Sections of a possible ring ditch (see above) of an unknown, but potentially Bronze Age date are faintly visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3). It is possible that the ring ditch could relate to the site of a Bronze Age round barrow. It is uncertain from the consulted sources (S1-S3) as to which feature was previously identified (see above) as the ring ditch. The sections of curved ditch mapped by the project presumably relate to the previously recorded ring ditch, as the mapped features approximately align with the grid references detailed in S4. The features have been mapped from S1, as this source showed the features most clearly. The Cambridge University Collection of Aerial Photography (CUCAP) aerial photographs referenced in S4 were not available to the project at the time of recording. Dense geological cropmarks can also be seen across the area on the aerial photographs (S1-S3). It is therefore possible that the mapped features could be natural rather than archaeological on origin. The cropmarks of a further probable Bronze Age ring ditch (NHER 11699) have been recorded approximately 150m to the south.The monument polygon has been updated to the position of the feature as visible on S1.
