Summary

During the 19th century a box of medieval stained glass was found in the loft of a carpenter's shop. The glass was 14th century and originally came from St Peter's Church (NHER 8945).

'A quantity of medieval stained glass has been found in a box in the loft of an old farm building.
See (S1), quoted on Ordnance Survey card (S2).

Informant [1], a stained glass expert says:- this glass was 14th century and was found in the loft of a carpenter's shop in the 19th century. It came from a window in Merton Church (NHER 8945) now blocked by a monument, and is now at Merton Hall. Other stained glass was found in a grotto in the grounds.
