NHER 12304 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Cropmarks of a possible double ditched enclosure of an unknown date

Two linear parallel cropmarks about 30m apart running northwest to southeast, then turning through a right-angle to run northeast to southwest, about 20m apart. Trackway?

A Section of a possible double ditched enclosure of an unknown date is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S4-S5). The feature consists of two roughly parallel ditches which run approximately northwest to southeast before turning at a right-angle to run approximately northeast to southwest. The date of the possible enclosure is unknown. However, a potential Roman date could be tentatively suggested from the features form. Given the relatively broad distance between the two ditches (between approximately 20m and 25m), the possibility that the features could instead relate to former field boundaries or a section of trackway of an unknown date (see above), cannot be ruled out.
