Summary

An unusual dark circular cropmark is visible on aerial photographs, and may be associated with the searchlight station operative here in 1918 or the Gooderstone landing field.

Unusual dark circular cropmark with opposing entrances to east and west. Beyond to west roughly cruciform mark.
These may possibly be connected with the searchlight station operative here in 1918, perhaps connected with Gooderstone landing field. Air photographs checked. Photograph of searchlight in (S1).

October 2008. Correspondence.
Following a visit to the possible WWI searchlight site it was reported that nothing was visible on the surface. It is also suggested that the site does not date to WWI.
