June 1953. Listed Grade II*.

Lower courses of south wall appear to be the oldest brickwork. Gable is shaped but cut off at rear, however in recent brick - is it original? If so it is very late for main block is of 1718, eight bays, three storeys with top one smaller, red brick, door with shell hood. To north is an extension of 1781 with dentilled cornice and bay window. An early 19th century bay window, single storeyed and wide, spreads west from the main block. Good condition.
Stands on site of priory guesthouse (see NHER 4295).

Listing description (1998 revised) states rear wing is indeed early 17th century though restored, contains ovolo moulded beams, firehood and upper cruck roof. Detailed description of later parts given. Restored 1983. Converted to offices.

"Vicarage, converted to offices. Early 17th-century rear wing, façade dated 1718, extended 1781. Restored 1983 by and for the Paul Robinson Partnership (architects). Flint and brick rear wing, red brick façade. Roofs of black-glazed pantiles.
EXTERIOR: main 1718 front of three storeys, eight-window range, in eight bays. Door of 1983 in fifth bay (from left) with an overlight and a floating shell hood of 1718 set on scrolled brackets...Platbands between the floors of the main elevation. Low parapet rebuilt after bomb damage 1942 has a plaque recording construction in 1718 by the Corporation and repair by Wm. Fisher, Mayor, in 1781. Gabled roof. South gable formerly shaped, but rebuilt to east slope. To left of elevation is a two-storey extension probably of 1781. Full-height canted bay window rebuilt after 1942…modillion and dentil eaves cornice. Red pantiles to roof, which is hipped to the north…Rear 17th-century wing of two storeys...Gabled roof. North front with a full-height late 19th-century…
INTERIOR: the 17th-century wing to rear has three bridging beams with sunk-quadrant mouldings and tongue stops. Remains of a fire canopy at east end. Roof of this part retains two pairs of early 17th-century upper crucks and two tiers of butt purlins. Late 19th-century front extension enlarges an existing room fitted with late 19th-century large-framed panelling in 18th-century style matching the 18th-century panelling in the ante-room immediately south. The south room to the façade has mid-18th-century large-framed panelling, a dado rail and a shouldered and eared overmantel. An early 18th-century closed-string staircase with turned balusters and a moulded handrail rises to the first floor. An early 19th-century staircase with turned balusters continues to second floor. Roof of front block of simple rafter and purlin type (original blown off by bomb in 1942)."
