Summary

Several rectangular enclosures of unknown date are visible as cropmarks of aerial photographs. Within two of the enclosures are the cropmarks of possible timber buildings, of uncertain date. Neolithic flint implements, Late Saxon pottery, a Late Saxon box mount and a medieval seal have been found on the site by metal detecting.

Three roughly rectangular enclosures, western ends rounded and not in line with cropmark of old field boundary shown on (S1).
In two of these are smaller rectangles suggested as 'trench constructed timber halls' by D. Edwards (NAU)
Soilmark of road with two flanking cropmarks of ditches continues line of road to southwest towards northeast.
Possible Thetford Ware sherds found in 1978 by D. Edwards (NAU)

At southwest corner of cropmark area as marked on record map, 100m square fieldwalked by [1] and produced large numbers of Neolithic flints (S3) and burnt flints.

14th century copper alloy seal matrix, circular, with 4 dots on top to indicate orientation.
Lion guardant (of England).
SINIOWE CVSTOMME DONEWICI seal of new customs of Dunwich (NIOWE possibly a version of NOVE) to be photographed.
Late Saxon box mount with human mask (compare object from NHER 6033), (S3).
