Cropmarks of small square enclosures on 'either a St. Joseph or an Ordnance Survey aerial photograph'.

14 December 1987. Fenland fieldwalking, good conditions, weathered ploughsoil.
Context 1 at 5431 9950c western part of eastern of two cropmark fields spread of gun flint. NDH AC.
Context 2 at 5421 9950. Sparse spread of Roman pottery with in places moderate quantities of brick fragments and odd bit of bone and shell.
Slightly greyish soil. South of Fen Causeway.
Within or close to enclosure of cropmarks.
Minimum 64m northeast to southwest x 45m northwest to southeast at 1.8m OD. NDH 6.

Pottery moderate to abundant, brick sparse to moderate, some bone.
Spreads onto a low roddon. Overall size now about 120m east to west x 40m north to south.
