NIAS records:
The Wissington Light Railway was 18 miles of track used to develop the local fen land and later served the sugar factory. Constructed in 1905 it was closed by flooding in 1917. It was reopened in 1925 along with the construction of the sugar factory. By 1956 the south branch was closed as road access was built. The railway last ran steam in 1972, after which the steam locomotives were replaced with diesel engines.

It has not been possible to locate the lime kiln on any cartographic sources, so a separate record has not been created for this. The source of evidence for the kiln and associated narrow gauge railway is unclear.
